Changes to my study programme

Blog Post 7: Changes to my study programme When I had to choose a university to study psychology I've always prefer this one because of the variety of topics taught here, so, in that sense for me, the curriculum it's perfect, especially because last year they changed it and now we have something called "Cursos transversales" where people of all the careers in FACSO could learn how to write using APA, get to know different topics that all of the students in social sciences should know and stuff like that. Of course that the pandemic has hindered implement these courses correctly, but the idea is good.  Also, with the new curriculum, we will have to do the degree proyect sooner than with the last curriculum, which will allow us to finish our studies in the 5th year, and have support at all the phases of the proyect, which was more free and self-managed before and could last more than a year. I appreciated this change too, cause it's a important work to do and it wou...

Time Travel to the Future

Imagen
Blog Post 6: Time travel to the future. I would like to go to two different times in the future. First, I would like to go as far as I could, like, thousands or millions of years in the future, because I would like to see if the Earth is still alive or if there is other planet here, or if there is an apocalypse in the Earth we know. I would like to travel to any country, but specially in Chile, to the places I've been and I've lived, to see how all of it had changed. I think that if I have a time-travel machine, I could go to any country too, so I would like to visit any place that I want, watching them from the sky, or something. I don't know if I would like to stay there, it depends of what I could find there. I mean, if I found some new planet, aquatic life like Atlantis or something like that, I'll probably stay, to learn about the species, and I would want to know if there are people similar to human beings. I hope that they don't kill me XD In the other half, ...

My Future Job.

Blog Post 5: My Future Job. In the future, I imagine myself working with people, helping them, listening to them, taking care of them, etc. I could do this in a lot of ways. I prefer a versatile job, so it don't matter so much to me if the job is outdoors or indoors, while I get the chance to it both ways. I would like to travel to anywhere and visit a lot of places, get to know different cultures and realities. I think that could help me a lot to grow. I don't mind if my salary isn't too much. Mostly, I care about having a home, something to eat, hot water to take a shower, food for my pets and a little extra to buy things that my partner and I could enjoy, like tickets for a concert, a trip, some music that he likes or a game console so we can play something together. Regarding major or later studies that I could take when I graduated from Psychology, I'd love to get a degree of art therapy, music therapy or any kind of therapy that involves unconventional treatments ...

Dark: my favorite series.

Imagen
Blog Post 4: Free themed topic. Lately I've been rewatching my favorite series: Dark. I've been doing that because my boyfriend and I decided to watch series together while we're on quarantine and every night we videocall and watch a couple of episodes. Last weeks we watched Dark and we finished all 3 seasons (I've already seen them when they came out). He loved it as much as I do. Dark is a german netflix series that came out on December 2017. I started to watch it when it was released, and I got obsessed with it since episode 1. The series tell a story about Jonas, a teenage boy who came out of the psychiatric hospital cause his father killed himself and he was traumatized by that. Jonas lives in Winden, a german little city, and, like all little cities, it hides a lot of secrets. The first episode presents most of the characters, and their relationships, and also points the fact that Erik, some kid, has dissapeared.  Watching it, you may think that is somekind of det...

How I decided that I'll study Psychology, and what happened next

Imagen
Blog Post 3: Themed/Free post - career related. I've always been a curious person, and I'm very interested in a lot of topics; when I was a kid everything looked amazing and that's why I've wanted to be a lot of things, like a vet, an artist, a doctor, a writer, a dentist, etc. When I grew up, I realized that I loved equally biology and social sciences, and I couldn't choose between them, but all of the traditional careers that I knew involved only one of them, and it wasn't enough. I had to choose 'cause the end of school was approaching and I felt pressure. Around those years I started to go to therapy, and I was fascinated about the tests that my therapist applied to me and I wanted so bad to understand them. Also, the therapy helped me a lot. I really wanted to study human mind, and emotions, the brain, social relationships, all of it. I realized that my mind have always been thinking in that way, everywhere I go, I think about how I'm feeling and ho...

Imagine Dragons 2015: The best concert I've ever been to.

Imagen
Blog Post 2: Best holidays/concert you've ever been to. In my case, I'll talk about the best concert I've ever been to.  On 2015 I went to Los Andes to visit my friend Victor and he had a friend named Lucas, who loved Imagine Dragons. We became very close and because of him I started to love their music too. In the same year, they came to Chile and Lucas, Victor and I went to their concert at Movistar Arena in the O'Higgins Park here in Santiago. Imagine Dragons are an american rock-pop band from Las Vegas. They've been doing music since 2008 until today, but they became famous and recognized around 2011 with the release of their debut album "Night Visions". Nowadays, they are one of the biggest bands in the world, being number 30 on the list of most-streamed artists on Spotify. Some of my favorite songs are: Selene, West Coast, I Bet My Life and Yesterday. I love their lyrics so much and the rhythm that they've been building since their first album to...

Germany: snow, beer and cozy living

Imagen
Blog post 1: A country would you like to visit. I've always liked cold countries or places, because I love winter a lot. That's why I would like to go visit Germany, mostly because my aunt has a friend who lives there, and she always talks about how pretty it is, cause she's been there many times. I'm often fascinating when she tells stories about how people there has chimneys into their houses (her friend lives far away big cities) and when it snows they leave the house with boots and big jackets. I've never seen snow here, or never been to places where it snows, so that's a dream for me. And all that my aunt shares with me about his friend's life there sound very cozy and i love it.  Other things that I know about Germany is a couple things that we learned in History class on school, like how they participated on WWI or WWII, the colonization, the nazism, and also that there is a lot of inmigrants of Germany here in Chile. Also I know they are famous becau...
