Changes to my study programme
Blog Post 7: Changes to my study programme
When I had to choose a university to study psychology I've always prefer this one because of the variety of topics taught here, so, in that sense for me, the curriculum it's perfect, especially because last year they changed it and now we have something called "Cursos transversales" where people of all the careers in FACSO could learn how to write using APA, get to know different topics that all of the students in social sciences should know and stuff like that. Of course that the pandemic has hindered implement these courses correctly, but the idea is good.
Also, with the new curriculum, we will have to do the degree proyect sooner than with the last curriculum, which will allow us to finish our studies in the 5th year, and have support at all the phases of the proyect, which was more free and self-managed before and could last more than a year. I appreciated this change too, cause it's a important work to do and it would help a lot hhaving support during all the process of graduation from Psychology.
Something good about the teaching methods, is that, in a normal year, depending of the subject, the teacher often takes their students to different places like kindergarden, psychiatric hospital, research places, etc., for students to get to know first-hand some places or ways to work in the discipline. I would like to know how this can be done in the pandemic.
The only thing I could say I would change, is that the buildings and infrastructure, especially into FACSO, aren't intended for the number of students that enter every year to the different careers. That's why we had to take courses into the "aularios", cause there the university has the capacity to keep around 100 students into the same classroom. Anyway, before the pandemic started, they had been building new "aularios", and that could help a lot.
the new curriculum looks very interesting, it would be great to have it and I agree with what you say, I hope that with the new classrooms they will free up some space in the faculty.
ResponderBorrarI agree with what you suggest.
ResponderBorrarI agree with you, infrastructure has always been a big problem in our university.
ResponderBorrarI agree that what the faculty needs most is to improve the infrastructure in general, the rooms are small and there are few spaces for study and recreation.
ResponderBorrarI would have liked to start studying psychology now haha, good changes have been made in the curriculum
ResponderBorrarwait, you were to the presencial classes? lucky you. The idea of going to some places and learn stuff first-hand it's really good.
